On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, Bill Bowen, husband, father, grandparent, son and brother, passed away due to Dementia at the age of 84. Bill will forever be missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy Bowen (nee Boesch) and his two daughters, Kim Taylor West and Melissa Wickenhauser. Bill always cherished time with his grandchildren, Charlotte Fore, Allison Taylor, Emma Fore, Kaitlyn Taylor, Jack Fore and Michael Fore. Bill's sisters, Marilyn Beebe and Jeanne Groszbach preceded him in death. Bill was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but grew up in Evanston, Illinois. Bill graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was a Human Resource Director for three manufacturing firms over the years. Most of his career was in Fresno and San Luis Obispo, California. At retirement, Bill and Nancy moved to Missouri to be near family. Bill remained close to his friends from his elementary school Cub Scout Troop. Once they all qualified for Social Security, they decided to have adventurous annual reunions in a variety of states. They traveled and remained youthful by geocaching, hiking and drinking. Bill and Nancy enjoyed vacationing across the globe in Hawai'i, Yosemite, Asia and Europe. They both always loved taking their grandchildren out on their birthdays, driving to music lessons, concerts and teaching them that, "...there is always time for ice cream!" Bill was a gentle, patient and kind person who loved to give warm hugs. He had a wonderful smile that was contagious and loved being out in nature, especially spotting deer in his back yard. He always appreciated time with his family and surrounded them with warmth and love. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Bill's name.
