Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Terri Michelle Elmore. Terri departed this world peacefully on March 19, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on May 3, 1970, to Russell and Mary "Wright" Ham Jr. Terri is survived by her children Abigail and Zachary Elmore; mother, Mary (Wright) Ham; sibilings, Tammy (Kurt) Waggoner and Russell (Renee) Ham. Terri grew up with her siblings Tammy and Russ and attended St. Kevin Catholic School until attending Pattonville High School, graduating in 1988. During school, Terri enjoyed cheerleading and playing soccer. In 1997, Terri graduated from St. Louis Community College with a degree in Applied Science. She worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at DePaul hospital for a few years and until going to work at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in 2000. Over the next 24 years, Terri built a career that she loved and an extended MoBap family that she adored. She continued her education while at the hospital and became (at the time) 1 of 12 people in the U.S to be a Certified Safe Patient-Handling Specialist where she not only continued to provide excellent care to patients but embraced training and educating nurses to ensure their safety as well. Although her career is impressive, it doesn't hold a light to the rest of Terri's life. Terri married Jim Elmore in 1997 and had two wonderful children. She spent her time coaching their sports teams and leading Girl Scout troupes. Terri loved her children, her family and friends. Abigail and Zack were her world, and her light continues to shine through them. She raised two amazing children. If she wasn't talking about her kids, she was telling stories about her nieces and her great nephew, all of whom she loved very much. She enjoyed traveling, going to the lake, the beach, hiking and growing tomatoes on her back porch. Although she enjoyed baking, she wasn't always good at it, so she stuck with her strengths of meal prepping and making dinners for her kids when they were home. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with friends, sitting on her back porch and laughing at life as much as possible. She also loved her sports teams, the Cardinals, Blues and Packers. Terri was unlike anyone you'll meet in this life. She embraced living, looking for the good and holding on to it when she found it. She had a smile that could light up the room. She gave unconditionally and selflessly to anyone that needed a hand. Although sweet, she was also salty, keeping us on our toes with her quick wit and her wicked sense of humor. She cast her net far and wide, having lifelong friendships with many. She is and will continue to be greatly missed. Many of you have reached out asking if you could help, please consider donating to a fund that has been set up for Abigail and Zack to help ease this burden. Donations can be made through Venmo@Abigail-Elmore-3 password is 1438. She is preceded in death by her father Russell Ham Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 7, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Gettemeiers in St. Peters, MO.
