Sylvia Hedwig Bayer went with the angels on Monday, May 11th, 2020. She was born on May 29, 1943 to the late Oscar and Hortence Bayer. Loving sister of the late Ron Bayer and Jeanine Gormley. Dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to all. She grew up at the "Bayer's Garden Shop" on Hampton. Her parents had purchased the building in 1941 when the roads were still gravel. She developed there and has always had a love of animals. She always had a cat or a dog. She loved the holidays. Her favorite was Christmas and she could spend countless hours decorating the nursery until everything was just perfect. It always brought smiles to everyone who came it because you could tell it was done with love. Sylvia had compassion in her heart for those in need. She would fill back packs of full of necessary essentials and deliver them to homeless people. These were not always in the safest neighborhoods, but she didn't care. She helped everyone she could. She never had children of her own, but that didn't stop her from caring for people. At the nursery, she treated everyone like her own. She was a mother figure to some and an aunt to many. If she was very fond of you she might just initiate you into the "Double Dot" club. (Of which she was the charter member and founder.) Two simple dots on your hand, to those who received the dots, it was a treasured gift. Sylvia will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
