Obituary

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Susan Lampe, who passed away on November 18th at the age of 65. She was born on February 5, 1959 in St. Louis and was a dedicated mother of five, grandmother of eleven, and a cherished member of her community. She was a devoted mother to her five children, always putting their needs first and guiding them with patience, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of her nurturing spirit. As a grandmother, she showered her eleven grandchildren with love and affection, and her legacy will live on in each of them. She is preceded in death by her siblings Catherine Lampe, Martin Lampe, Dennis Lampe, her niece Becky Ringer, and nephew Marty Lampe, who welcomed her with open arms in heaven. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory, including her parents, Tony and Clementine Lampe, her five children Bryan (Michelle) Reckelhoff, Brad (Nikki) Reckelhoff , Jenny Reckelhoff, Kenny (Katie) Reckelhoff, and Angie Reckelhoff, her eleven grandchildren Desi, Jada, Olivia, Stella, Emily, Sophia, Chloe, Scarlett, Alex, Vera, and Ruby, her siblings Edward Lampe, Matthew (Maryann) Lampe, Janet (Steve) Graff, Julie (Steve) Ringer, John Lampe, Mary Lampe, and Anthony (Juana) Lampe. Sue is also remembered by her ex-husband, Gerry (Betty) Reckelhoff, her nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. Sue was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family and her work. As a talented seamstress, she took great pride in her craft, creating beautiful clothing and repairs for many. Her hands, skilled and steady, were always busy, whether making clothes for her children, grandchildren, or others in need. She took pride in her job at Woody's Men's Shop where she was more than just an employee for 37 years. Her work was more than a profession-it was a way for her to show love and care for those around her. A visitation will be held on November 26th from 4-8 at Jay B. Smith, 7456 Manchester St. Louis, MO 63143. A Catholic Mass will follow on November 27th at 10:00 at Immaculate Conception, 2934 Marshall Ave. We invite you to join us as we celebrate Sue's life and faith. A private burial will be held at a later date. Following Mass, a luncheon will be held at the Immaculate Conception Gymnasium. All are welcome to attend and share in a time of fellowship and remembrance Though she has left this world, the love and memories she shared will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Susan. You will always be loved, and your memory will live on in the lives you touch.
