Sumner S Dismukes passed away on April 15, 2026 at the age of 66. He was born on May 12, 1959. His parents, Zackary and Dorothy Dismukes, preceded him in death. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend.

Sumner was known for his hard-working spirit, generosity, and dry sense of humor. He worked in construction as a project manager on job sites all over the world. He loved mentoring the younger people in the field of construction. He cared deeply for those he worked with.

Sumner was the most proud dad and Papa to his children and grandchildren who he loved fiercely, protected and supported in anything they chose to do. He created lasting memories that will continue to live on in those he left behind.

Sumner was strong and never gave up. He fought to the very end for those he loved. Though his passing leaves a great emptiness, his life remains a gift to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Sumner is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, sister Elizabeth (Ralph) English of Hartselle, AL, children, Zackary (Erika) Dismukes of St. Louis, MO, Rachel (Joseph) Kelly of Murray, KY and Wade (Angela) Dismukes of Madison, WI, stepchildren Heather (Ronald) Marchlewski of Wildwood, Hilary (Kaleb) Cheek of Barnhart, Zachary Noack of Webster Groves and Nicholas (Paulina) Noack of St. Louis, grandchildren Chloe, Stacy, Alyssa, Amelia, Harper, James, Chandler, Emerson and a baby girl due any day.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled on May 30, 2026 at Jay B Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Dr, Fenton, MO, 4:00-8:00 pm.
