February 4, 1927 – April 6, 2017 Our grandma, Shirley Fisbeck, was born in Saint Louis, Missouri. She began loving deeply and living fully when she married our grandpa, Joseph M. Mitchell, on February 23, 1945 in Saint Augustine, Florida. They had two children together, Michael and Patricia. They moved several times with the navy, but settled in Dutzow, Missouri in the early 1970s. They watched their children grow and marry. Mike married Palma, and Pat married Warren Hummert. Their hearts grew bigger when Mike and Palma blessed them with Jenna and Kellyn. There isn't any one thing that we loved the most about our grandma. We have so many childhood memories with her from traveling; her amazing cooking – especially her fruit preserves and cookies; the special gifts and college care packages; and quiet times when she would just listen knowing we needed her. She always, always reminded us that it is the good memories that matter most. Life continued to blossom as Jenna married John Litynski and Kellyn married Dereck Wilson. Just when their hearts couldn't possibly get bigger they became great-grandparents! John and Jenna had Brenna, McKenna, Grant, and Cody; and Kellyn and Dereck had Trent and Ashlyn – she loved everyone so much! Whenever life got crazy, she would again remind us that we always have the good memories. Living life with her glass always half full and through the strength of her good memories, she lived to be ninety years old! Our grandpa said, and believe everyone she touched would agree, that "walking through life with you has been a very gracious thing". Now as we listen to the birds outside, or see a pair of cardinals, we can smile and remember that she is in her "Tweetie's" arms once again.
