Shirley Ann Gault (nee Wiegand, nee Markwardt) was born Aug 1, 1935. She died peacefully on Feb 2, 2023 after a short illness, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Anna Markwardt; her brothers Norman and Earl Markwardt; and sister Doris Harsch (nee Markwardt). She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, (Evan) Leigh Wiegand of 22 yrs, and Donald Gault of 34 yrs, and by stepson Christopher Gault. She is survived by her children, Wynn (Sandra) Wiegand and Janet (David) Evans (nee Wiegand) and two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Gault and Gail Stephens (nee Gault). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tamara and Aubrey Evans; (John) Adam Wiegand; and Jacob, Gabriella, and Abigail Stephens, in addition to many nephews, nieces and great grandchildren. A lifelong St Louisan, Shirley attended Eureka high school. She worked for years in the 70s as an account clerk for Spiegel Catalog Company and later retired after over 15 yrs as an account manager at St Louis Metropolitan Sewer District.
