Obituary

Sharon Maria Olive February 17, 1960 - August 12, 2025 Sharon Maria Olive (Carranza), age 65, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in Affton, Missouri surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 17th, 1960. Cherished daughter of Ernest Jr. and Patricia Carranza. Devoted wife to Arthur Olive, beloved mother to Valerie Hofer and Scarlett (Josh) Metcalf. The proudest MawMaw to her grandchildren Alycia, Axel, Maximus, Marius, Benny, and Finley. Dear sister to Ernest (Gretchen) Carranza III and Michael (Rhonda) Carranza. She was an Aunt, great Aunt, cousin, and best friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Landon Lochlan and best friend of 52 years, Alice Handlang. Sharon was a proud pescatarian; starting the practice in 1999. Throughout her life she had many hobbies. She enjoyed painting, jewelry making, knitting, and her favorite; sewing. Sharon could make anything from a quilted blanket to sewing her own outfits growing up; if she couldn't find something she liked she'd just make it. Her favorite sport was bowling. She grew up with a bowling alley behind her house where she and her brothers played often. Music played a major part in Sharon's life. She loved going to concerts. It didn't matter who was playing. If there was music and fun to be had, she was there. Always the life of the party; her laugh would fill the room and bring joy to all around her. Sharon's door and heart were always open. She was the one who showed up when no one else did, the shoulder you could cry on, and the loudest cheerleader in the room. Her family and friends will remember her laughter, hugs, and her fierce loyalty. She will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 12:00 to 2:00pm with a service at 2:00pm at Jay B. Smith Fenton Chapel 777 Oakwood Dr. Fenton, MO. 63026, where friends and family are invited to share memories and honor Sharon's beautiful spirit.
