Obituary

Roy Earl Wright Jr., of Arnold, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri surrounded by his five sons and family. He was born April 4, 1933, to Roy & Frankie Wright. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Kay and granddaughter Shannon Wright. He is survived by his sons Roy (Debbie), David (Cyndi), Kevin (Linda), Alexander and daughter in-law- Allison and Timothy (Kim); eight grandchildren, Shawn, Christy (Jon), Jennifer (Jeff), Josh (Colleen), Mike (Elaine), Robert, Catherine (Jason) and Nathan; nine great-grandchildren and loving companion Brenda and her daughter, Nora. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, he served aboard the USS Oriskany. Roy retired from Ford Motor Company. He excelled as a softball pitcher, playing for teams in the U.S. Navy, as well as for G.H. Walker and Ford Motor Company. Roy was a man that enjoyed the simplest things in life. He loved his family and was proud of all of his sons and grandchildren. Visitation Monday, November 15, 2010 10am to time of service at 1:30pm from Jay B. Smith Funeral Home Fenton Chapel 777 Oakwood Dr. (at 141) Burial to follow service with full honors at Jefferson Barracks National cemetery.
