Bodman, Rose Ann 1928 - 2025 Was born September 09, 1928, in Bedford, IN. She passed away July 17, 2025, in Webster Groves, MO. She was a long-time resident of Brentwood, MO. She graduated from high school in Brazil, IN as Valedictorian and from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She worked for several newspapers and publications in her career. Her last position was secretary for the Head Resident of Psychiatry at Washington University Medical School. She was a lifelong birder and nature lover. She was active in the Webster Groves Nature Study Society (WGNSS)joining in 1970. She served as president in 1974 - 1975. She also authored the monthly birder notes in the WGNSS newsletter, Nature Notes from 1977 - 1998. In 2012 WGNSS awarded her a Lifetime Achievement Award. Birding was her passion. She always had binoculars handy and would frequently stop in Forest Park on her way home to bird. She felt fortunate to have birded throughout the country and in several foreign countries. Rose Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, Ted and Verna Mershon Raper, beloved sister, Jane Phillippi and beloved husband of 35 years, Milton T. Bodman. She is survived by her brother, Ted Raper, Son Tucker (Nancy) Bodman, Daughter Nedra Schoeberlein and Son Tom (Susan) Bodman. She was Grandmother to Grace, Charlie, Maggie, Jamie, Ben, Tucker, Kate, Olivia and Great-Grandmother to James, MacKenzie, JR, Tommy, Izzie and Cataleya. Rose Ann deeply loved her family and many friends. She was a marvelous cook who loved making meals for family and friends. She was a lifelong Presbyterian who was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in University City, MO for 65 years where she served on many boards and committees. Memorial Gathering will be Friday, August 22, 2025, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at noon. The Gathering and Service will be held at the Jay B. Smith Maplewood Chapel.
