Ronald Dwain Smith, 65, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ron was a man who loved many things, letting passion guide his hand and heart. His faith and love in the Lord remained always steadfast and he was proud to be a member of His flock at the Crossing Church in Fenton, MO. He loved serving people as his joy was seeing the joy in others and his strength making those around him stronger. He loved to cook, bake, and create - these things offering a way to let his imagination shine. He blessed all who had the pleasure and privilege to have his delicious food and he would make sure that no one ever went hungry. He loved to deep-sea fish, overcoming the challenge of strength for a reward he could share with others. This reflected his life, never backing down and persevering to the end so that he may also reward those he loved around him. He loved to laugh and have those around him share in his happiness, whether it be in the form of bad jokes or silly pranks. One thing that was never lacking with him around was joy, as he knew the healing power of laughter and kindness. He loved to travel with his wife, spending time exploring and trying new things or just making sure to stop, relax, and embrace the life he had with the woman he cherished. He loved his family, working and living for them. He was proud of his sons and strived to teach them, help them, and guide them at every stage of their lives. He was a dedicated son and sibling and made sure to let his family know he always thought of them. He looked forward to being a grandfather and was humbled to be an honorary Dede (grandpa) for Yasemin, whom he cherished every moment with. Ron leaves behind his beloved wife Kathy Smith (nee Morse); dear son of Louise Smith (nee Marks) and the late Glenn Dwain Smith; loving father Briar (Crystal) Smith, Tyler (Grace) Smith and Jacob Smith; dear brother of Sandy Bequette (Jeff), Suzy Arnold (David), uncle of 10 nieces, nephews and a friend to many. Ron was wealthy with memory in life, and he remains wealthy now as we remember the story of his deeds, his triumphs, and the wonderful memories which those he loved will hold onto forever A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at The Crossing Church at Fenton 1800 Bowles Ave Fenton, MO 63026 with a Memorial Gathering from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
