Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald D. Mooring Sr. on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born in St. Louis, MO, on June 29th, 1945, Ronald embraced life with vigor, meeting challenges with courage. Ronald was a man of resilience with an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. His journey through life was marked by adventure as lead singer of a popular band in the 70s, a deep desire to explore and create through music and poetry, and an appreciation for a good White Castle (which brought him so much joy later in life). Ronald developed a unique admirance for Genghis Khan and embodied some of the same attributes Khan is known for, like strategic brilliance, innovative tactics, and a vast vision for his empire - his life. Ronald was unapologetically himself with a gentle spirit. Time and distance were no match for the love he had for his children. Ronald will be missed, and memories with him cherished forever and ever. Ronald was preceded in death by two grandchildren and is survived by: Rachelle D. Vannes, daughter; Ronald D. Ballard, son; DeAndra M. Ballard, daughter; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, to carry on his legacy, faith, and fervor for life. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home located at 7456 Manchester, Maplewood, MO. 63143. Visitation will begin at 11:00am CST with a service to follow at 12:00pm CST. Flowers can be ordered directly at: https://www.jaybsmith.com/ Though Ronald's time on earth has ended, his adventure is not over. His faith has been fulfilled and his spirit remains a light in the hearts of his loved ones. Amen
