Richard (Rick) Paul Miller passed away on February 5, 2018 from complications due to Parkinson 's disease. Rick was born September 11, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. Rick was an Eagle Scout, and graduated from Affton High School in 1975. Following graduation from Stanford University with a B.S. in Economics, Rick moved back to St. Louis and worked in sales. Rick was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth (Liz) Thuet Miller; daughters Maggie and Emily; mother Joan Zobel; stepfather Heinz Zobel; mother-in-law Shirley Thuet; brothers David (Ellen) and Scott Miller; step-siblings Gordon (Julie), Craig, Conrad (Joni) and Annette (Bryan) Zobel; brothers- and sisters-in-law Barb, Mary, Joe (Ann), John (Kathy), and Bill (Cindy) Thuet; many nieces and nephews; and a close group of dear friends that Rick named "The Tribe". Rick's father Don Miller and father-in-law Lou Thuet predeceased him. Rick will be remembered for his vast knowledge, keen wit, and love of bad puns. He was a political junkie who loved math games, pop quizzes, and musical theatre. He was an extremely talented artist and life-long trumpet player with an extensive vocabulary and a gift for words. A memorial service in celebration of Rick's life will be held later this spring. Rick will be interred at Bellefontaine Cemetery. The family asks in lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to American Parkinson's Disease Association.
