Richard August Lohman, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Saint Louis, Missouri. Richard was born on Saturday, June 8, 1940, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to August F. and Sophia Lohman (nee Laub). He married Jeannette Dubrouillet. Together they raised their five children. Richard and Jeannette shared a love of raising and showing AKC registered dogs of various breeds for over 40 years. After retirement Richard spent many years volunteering at Feed My People in High Ridge, MO. He also volunteered at Maplewood Elementary School in Cahokia, IL. Richard is survived by his children, Richard Scott Lohman, Leslie Harder (nee Lohman), Randy (Chris Eslow) Lohman, Christopher (Llonda) Lohman and son-in-law Peter Padolik. He was the cherished grandfather of Richard (Megan) Harder, Zachary Padolik and Andrew Padolik. He was the great grandfather of Lucas Harder and Owen Harder. He was preceded in death by his parents August and Sophia, his loving wife Jeannette, his daughter Laura Padolik (nee Lohman) and his sister Dorothy Grant. Richard was a father-in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, 10:00am-12:00pm, followed by a service at 12:00 noon, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Chapel, 777 Oakwood Dr., Fenton, MO.
