Richard J. Beirne, 79, Baptized into the hope of Christ resurrection on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Beloved husband of Jo Ann Beirne (nee Lawless) Dear father of Timothy (Mary) Beirne and Brian (Cindy) Beirne. Brother of Ed (the late Chris) Beirne. Father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Richard was born and raised in St. Louis. He married his high school sweetheart, Jo Ann, and they have been married for 60 years. Richard has lead a full life and accomplished life. he served is country in the United States Air Force. After this, he was accepted into the police force where he served for 27 years on the St. Louis Police Department. He was there until his retirement in 1991. During this time while working and supporting his family, he also earned 1 associates degree, 3 bachelors degrees and 2 masters degrees. After his retirement from the police force he went to work for St. Louis University as a pharmacist technician where he stayed for 10 year before moving into the healthcare system for SSM for 4 years. After this he work for St. Anthony's Hospital for four more years until final retirement. Visitation will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Dr., Fenton, MO Service on Saturday September 3, 2022 at 11:30am. Interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
