Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Paul Eugene Bowen (73) of Fenton, MO, passed away peacefully on November 5th, 2023, surrounded by his family in his final hours. Beloved husband of Mary Clare (nee Harvath), son of William Hocy Bowen and Juanita (nee Barton). Loving father of Heather Peters, Mandy (Todd) Bodecker, and Rachel (Anthony) Wenzel. Cherished grandfather of Blake, Grant, Archer, and Fletcher. Dear brother of Donnie Bowen, loving cousin, nephew, brother-in-law, uncle, neighbor and friend to many. Paul took great joy in the outdoors. A family vacation was not complete without exploring the wonders of nature in every destination. Whether in waders in a cold trout stream or from a pontoon boat on one of Missouri's many lakes, he fished with friends and family throughout his life. He taught all of his daughters how to fish, spending more time untangling their lines than getting to actually fish himself. In his later years, he kept the neighborhood songbirds and squirrels fed, watching their bird-feeder antics from his patio or sunroom. He loved reading and sharing tidbits from the MO Conservationist magazine with his grandsons. In 1970, he served his country in the United States Army. Paul shared his journey through life with his loving wife, Mary, for the past 45 years. Paul was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and he worked for Ryder as a diesel mechanic for over 35 years. Paul had a wonderful sense of humor and a great laugh. He loved playing pranks on his co-workers and family, and had just as much fun when pranks were played on him. Paul will be remembered as a loving and much-loved man, with a kind heart, friendly disposition and a gentle soul. Paul will be greatly missed. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church in Fenton on Friday, November 10th at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. A Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date.
