Patsy Jean Mathias, 87 years of age, died Friday, February 27, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep in her apartment in Vally Park Missouri.

Patsy was born on March 7, 1938 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri the daughter of Clyde and Ada Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Mildred Proffer, brother Ray Dean Reynolds, grandson Mathew Mathias, a nephew Wilbur (Willy) Mathias and a nephew Steve Proffer.

She was raised and attended high school in Jackson, Missouri. She moved to St. Louis and worked in a shoe factory. She married Paul Kenneth Mathias Sr. on November 23, 1961 in Jackson, MO. They resided in Fenton, MO and were blessed with two children, Ken and Allen.

She enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, watching hummingbirds come into her feeders and bowling when she was younger. She bowled in several different leagues and went to the Diamond State Tournament several times.

She enjoyed spending time with her boys as they were growing up. She was one of their biggest fans watching them play baseball for many years. She loved to fish and spent several days on a lake fishing with her sons. Once she was blessed with grandkids she too spent as much time with them as she could. She went to their sporting events, school programs, and loved teaching them how to fish.

She is survived by two sons Ken Mathias (wife Carol) and Allen Mathias (wife Connie), 3 granddaughters Amy Streb (husband Charlie), Jaimi Ramsey (husband Alex), Sarah Downey (husband Michael), two grandsons, Michael Faust (wife Cami), and Kyle Mathias, four great granddaughters Olive Ramsey, Autumn Ramsey, Kaci Streb, and Remi Streb, two great grandsons, Brady Streb and Holden Downey.

Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton with a Funeral Service beginning at 12pm. Graveside service will follow at 3pm at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, Missouri.
