Patricia (Dement) Recker, daughter and oldest of nine children of Stanley Elwood Dement and Ida Rose Jane (Leman) Dement, was born December 28, 1950 at City Hospital in St. Louis City, Missouri. She departed this life December 26, 2022, two days short of her 72nd birthday. On June 21, 1969, Pat was united in marriage to Ronald William Recker at Sandy Baptist Church in Pevely, Missouri. To this happy union, eight children were born. Pat graduated from Hillsboro (Missouri) High School in May 1969. Pat helped to support Ron as he worked through his higher education, and she later became the mother of eight children, five boys and three girls. Pat was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 28, 1977, and was a member of the St. Louis Third, St. Louis Ninth, Ballwin, Rockwood, and Rockwood Second Wards of the Church while living in Ballwin, Missouri. When Ron retired in early 2007, he and Pat moved to Palm Coast, Florida, where she devoted her time to personalized machine embroidery of blankets, shirts, and other articles for family members and others. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren as often as occasion would permit. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Edward Recker; one brother, Tracey Wade Dement; and one sister, Jennie Elizabeth Dement. Survivors include her husband Ron; four sons, Daniel Richard Recker, Fred William Recker II, Timothy Steven Recker and his wife Tracy Jon (Brown), and Christopher Scott Recker; three daughters, Cheryl Lynn Recker, Pamela Sue Jobe, and Amanda Jean Hiler; daughter-in-law Michelle Miller; three brothers, Arnold Stacy Dement, Bruce Edward Dement, and Barry Elwood Dement; three sisters, Yvonne Dement, Margaret Mudd, and Penny Ann Dement; and eight grandchildren, Dustin Recker, Ashli Lockwood, Jason Barry, Austin Recker, Trenton Recker, Jonas Hiler, Nicholas Jobe, and Joseph Warren Recker. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6740 Loughborough Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63123. Service will follow. Burial will then follow at St. Paul Churchyard on Rock Hill Road in St. Louis County, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either the Humanitarian Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Pallbearers: Dustin Recker, Austin Recker, Trenton Recker, Jonas Hiler, Nicholas Jobe, Daniel Recker, Fred Recker, Timothy Recker, and Christopher Recker.
