Norma Jean Sevigny (née McKiernan), 81, of Fenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on May 9, 2026. She was born in Portales, New Mexico to William James and Essie May McKiernan. She was the beloved wife of Willard; devoted mother of Yvonne and Renee; and loving grandmother of Katlyn, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, and Matthew. Norma was tenacious, strong-minded and strongwilled. She lived a full life and always spoke her mind. She taught these strengths to her children and grandchildren and others who were important in her life. She did this with structure, encouragement and never missed a chance to celebrate their accomplishments. Norma Jean found great joy in sharing her love of cooking, baking, quilting, cross stitching, and crafting. Norma especially treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, their families and friends. Although she had many hobbies, she still took time to volunteer at the voting booth and with a local animal rescue. She was preceded in death by siblings Mary Ann, Clara Mae, Dorothy, and William Jr., and she now joins her parents, William James and Essie May. She will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. She was loved dearly and will be forever in our hearts. Please join us in celebrating her life. Visitation will be held on May 16, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home - Fenton Chapel.
