Nancy Fellinger , age 58. Born July 15, 1958. Died June 21, 2017. Beloved daughter of the late Lowell Fellinger and the late Maxine Fellinger (Sievers), and cherished stepdaughter of Erika Fischer - Fellinger. Born with Down Syndrome, she grew up in St. Louis, attended the Special District till she was 21 and worked 34 years in Valley Industries, a Sheltered Workshop. Easter 1980 she joined Christ Church, UCC in Maplewood together with her father and stepmother. She enjoyed music and was blessed with a perfect sense of rhythm. Her hobby was to play hand-held drums and percussion instruments, especially in Church with the Praise Band "Quelle" every Sunday. She became a member of the After Hours Band and was happy to take part in the "Creative Music Making" Workshops of the St. Louis ARC in the Spring of 2013 and 2014. Because of multiple health problems she was accepted for Long Term Care in October 2014 at the Quarters in Des Peres. She was cared for by many thoughtful caregivers, also Martha's Hands caregivers, Donna LaMotte and Christie Rogers. The family is especially grateful for Cyndi Strader who was her compassionate caregiver for many years. Survivors: her stepmother, her brother William (Donna) Fellinger of Vermont, 2 nephews, Eric (Dr. Erika) in Boston, Jeffrey (Katherine) in Newport, Vermont, great-nephews Zachary, Austin and Wyatt and great-niece Meredith. Cherished cousin and friend to many. Services. Nancy's body has been donated to the Body Donor Program at Washington University. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church, UCC in Maplewood, MO 63143, 2200 Bellevue Ave on Sunday, July 16, at 2:00 pm.Donations in Nancy's memory may be made to Christ Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
