Obituary

Michael Owens was born on November 11, 1952, and passed away on April 1, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Debbie (nee Bono), son Bradly (Kerri) Owens, daughter Heather (Tim) Block, and grandchildren Mitchell, Eva, Gabriel, and Evan. He will be greatly missed by many loving family members and friends. Micky was incredibly proud of his family. In June 1974, he married and had an amazing life with a marriage that spanned nearly fifty years. He found immense joy in being Broccoli and Papa to his grandchildren. For fifty years, he worked as a carpenter, contributing to the construction of both residential and commercial buildings. His hard work can be seen around the greater St. Louis area, including St. Louis Children's Hospital, Schnuck's Markets, and the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. He loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed fishing, being a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues teams, going to the casino, reading about history, and indulging in sweet treats. He bravely persevered during his long battle with a complex medical history until the very end. Micky will be forever missed and loved by many. Micky donated his body to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis to contribute to the advancement of medical education. A celebration of Micky's life will be held at the VFW Post 3500 in Richmond Heights, MO. More details to come. Instead of flowers, please consider donating to Rock Steady Boxing STL – Fenton, where Micky found tremendous support and believed wholeheartedly in the work they do to improve the quality of life for those living with Parkinson's Disease.
