Michael J. Lonigro, 81, of Fenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026.

Michael was born on October 25, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Victor and Bonnie (Cadwallader) Lonigro. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience he carried with honor throughout his life.

Michael married the love of his life, Janet (Steele) Lonigro, and together they shared 54 years of marriage filled with devotion, partnership, and family.

Michael was deeply proud of his Italian heritage and cherished traditions tied to his family roots. He was well known for his love of electric trains and his extensive train and toy collection, passions that brought him joy and reflected his attention to detail and sense of nostalgia.

Michael will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud veteran, and a man who found happiness in the things he loved most-family, heritage, and lifelong hobbies.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Michael is survived by his wife, Janet Lonigro; children, Jackie Pinkerton (Brian), Michael Lonigro, and Jennifer Giovannoni (Olivier); grandchildren, Angela, Melissa, Nicolas and Eva; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Victoria, Regina, and Andrea; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4-8PM at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
