Melvin L. Meyer, age 77, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. He was born July 8, 1948, in Alabama to Edmond and Marquerite (Beardon) Meyer.

He grew up with older brother, Ed, and younger brother, Gary, and only sister, Karen. He was a graduate of Mizzou with a degree in chemistry. He worked as a chemist, manufacturing industrial coatings. He was sought after for his problem solving in the manufacture of paint for industrial use.

He loved being with family and friends, spending time with his stepson, David, and stepdaughter, Vicki and three grandsons he was so proud of. He would often sneak food off his plate to his furry grand dogs.

Mel is survived by his wife of 31 years, Michelle; sister, Karen (Gary) Hawkins; niece, nephews and their children. He kept us all laughing with his great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 1-3PM at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton.
