Melissa Katherine Reeser October 6, 1974 - July 13, 2017 Melissa Katherine Reeser of Maplewood, Mo passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was born in Harrisonville, Mo on October 6, 1974, the daughter of Robert B. Reeser Jr. and Charlotte (Reeser) Gooch. She was a graduate of Jefferson City High School and went on to study at Boston University and later received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Melissa lived in Massachusetts, California and Colorado for short periods but returned to Missouri and settled in St. Louis. She worked primarily in the legal profession, but her true passions involved art, photography and music. She shared her creative talents through her photography and paintings. She cared deeply for her family and friends and was an especially attentive listener. She loved animals and was devoted to her steadfast companion, Weston (the wonder dog). She was treasured and loved beyond words and holds a special place in our hearts. She blessed us with her distinctive sparkle, spirit, quirky sense of humor and sweet nature. We will always cherish our memories of Melissa. She was a member of Crossroads Presbyterian Fellowship where her memorial service will be held on July 18, 2017. Survivors include her parents, Robert B. Reeser Jr. and Charlotte and James Gooch; her maternal grandmother Gladys Smithson; her siblings Ben (Becky) Reeser, Chris (Monica) Gooch, Alexis (Justin) Rantz, Sadie (Cole) Reeser, Zane Reeser, Lauri Ashlock, and James (Lanette) Gooch; her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Smithson, and her paternal grandparents, Robert Reeser and Ruth (Reeser) Malloy. Memorials in Melissa's name are preferred to Crossroads Presbyterian Fellowship.
