Mary Louise Louden September 15, 1931 - December 10, 2024 Age 93, sister of George D. Louden, aunt of John E. Louden, cousin of Carole Caruso, John Edwards, Ann Edwards, Shirley Thompson, Kathy Fischer, Richard Eby and Claudia Bley. Mary Louise grew up in a small town in Ohio. As a child she loved to explore and in high school she loved geometry, puzzles and art class. She had a master's degree in microbiology from Michigan State. She worked with her husband, Dr. Thomas Brock at Indiana University in Bloomington. They spent 5 summers in Yellowstone National Park studying bacteria in the hot springs and she helped write a textbook on basic microbiology. After a divorce, she did laboratory work, then secretarial work. After retirement, she enjoyed quilting and painting her own Christmas card that featured a little red bird carrying a Christmas tree, pulling a wagon and many more. And she loved to play scrabble! Mary was a good friend with a sense of humor and she always managed to pick herself up and move on when life got tough. She will be missed. Funeral services are private.
