Mary Helen Taylor, born Mary Helen Candrl, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by the love of her family.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the proud mother of six sons-Tim, Tom, Ted, Tony, Joseph, and Kenny-a role she embraced with strength, humor, faith, and unwavering devotion. Throughout her life, she created a home where family was always welcome, coffee was always available, and no one ever doubted they were loved.

Born into a large Croatian family, Mary remained deeply connected to her roots, her faith, and the traditions that shaped her life. Family was not simply important to her-it was the center of her world. She celebrated life's milestones with enthusiasm, from birds and graduations to weddings and retirements, and she believed that accomplishments, both large and small, deserved recognition.

For more than fifty years, she and her late husband, Dale, built a home that became a gathering place for generations. Her answer was always the same when asked why they remained in such a large house after the children had grown:

"We want to make sure there's enough room for the boys when they come back with their families"

That simple statement reflected her heart. She wanted everyone to know there would always be a place for them.

Mary was intentional about creating traditions that connected her family. Christmas was especially important to her. She loved Christmas caroling, preparing stockings for her children long after they had become adults, and filling holidays with warmth, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. Many of those traditions continue today through her children and grandchildren.

She possessed a remarkable combination od strength and tenderness. She spoke her mind, rarely hid what she was thinking, and had little use for pretense. At the same time, she was deeply thoughtful and generous, sending notes of encouragement, remembering special occasions, and finding countless ways to let her family know they were loved.

Her faith guided her throughout her life. Through both joyful seasons and difficult ones, she remained steadfast in her belief that family, love, grace, and perseverance mattered most.
Mary leaves behind a family that is larger, stronger, and more connected because of her influence. Her greatest legacy is not found in possessions or accomplishments, but in the generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who know how to love because she first loved them.

The traditions she created will continue. The stories she told will be repeated. The lessons she taught will be passed forward.
