Obituary

Margaret Mary Brevard, Age 90, of St. Louis, MO, made her journey home to Jesus on August 20th 2024. Marge was born on August 11th,1934, to Antoinette Marie Zugmaier and John Clemens Lampe in St. Louis. Marge graduated from St. Alphonsus Rock High School, where she also completed her childhood Catholic sacraments. Marge had a happy childhood, even though she grew up in an era of war and financial depression in the country. They didn't have a lot growing up and their family motto was "if you don't have it, you don't need it." In 1952, Marge married her first husband, Arthur Snook, and together they had five children: Mary, Art, Connie, Diane and Debora. In 1971, she married her second husband, Robert Brevard, and had one child, Michael. Her children were the center of her world and she was always proud of the legacy she built. Marge spent her life in the food service industry, running her own restaurant with husband Art and eventually working for Stix Baer & Fuller (Dillard's) as a waitress, where she retired in 1999 after thirty-four years of service. She enjoyed her retirement years traveling, attending Lions Club dinner dances, and was very active in her church and prayer life. She loved playing Pinochle and Michigan Rummy with her family and spending time with loved ones. She is survived by her children: Mary Kiger (Walter), Arthur Snook Jr., Diane Mudd (Joseph), Debora Riedel, Michael Brevard (Jennifer), and son-in-law Gordon Kinder. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Becky Dowell (Scott), Doug Kiger, Kim Beckham (Kyle), Amanda Snook, Brian Snook, Daniel Snook, Eric Morse, Tammy Morse, Karl Kinder (Jacquelyn), Kyle Kinder, Lorie Carpenter (Ron), Michelle Romano (Justin), Valery Maskell, Sean Bolin (Jennifer), Andrea Brockmann, Heather Brevard (Nathan), Jacob Brevard (Brianna), and Morgan Brevard, as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Marge will be welcomed home by loved ones previously departed: father John Lampe, mother Antoinette Zugmaier, brother Clemens Lampe, daughter Connie Kinder and grandson Walter Kiger, Jr. A visitation will be held at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home-Maplewood Chapel (7456 Manchester Rd. Saint Louis MO 63143) Sunday September 8th 4:00PM-6:00PM. A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church (2618 S. Brentwood Blvd, Brentwood MO 63144) on Monday September 9th at 9:30AM, with internment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery (6901 Mackenzie Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63123). We send heartfelt thanks to the kind and supportive staff at Monroe City Manor Care Center (Monroe City MO), where mom was a resident for the last three years. Until we meet again, Mom, we will always carry your memory in our hearts. Love, your children. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Monroe City Manor Auxiliary (1010 HWY 24 36 E Monroe City MO 63456-1116 / EIN: 76-0787202)
