Loretta R. Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 19, 1935, in St. Louis. Loretta was the daughter of Emert and Alta Owens.

Loretta dedicated her career to caring for others, spending many years as a registered nurse at Barnes Hospital. Her compassionate nature and dedication to her work touched countless patients. Loretta enjoyed traveling, good food and time with friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Johnson, and her dear son, Arthur Shayne Johnson. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Steve and Daniel Owens. However, her love continued to shine brightly through her surviving family: her daughter, Glynda Johnson Soetebier, and her son, Mark Johnson, along with his wife Sharon. Loretta's legacy is also carried forward by her cherished grandchildren: Chad Johnson, Justin Johnson, Alexander (and Keeley) Johnson, Kaitlin Johnson, Dan (and Morgyn) Johnson, Grace Johnson, Cheryl Soetebier, and Kacey (and Austin) Giles.

In honoring Loretta's memory, the family wishes to extend a special thanks to her friend and loyal confidant, Mary Larouere, whose support and companionship enriched Loretta's life immeasurably.

She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
