Lois Ruth Alexander (née McGowen), of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on March 24, 1933, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to the late Robert McGowen and Bernice McGowen. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared many wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Edward Alexander, and together they built a life centered around love, faith, and family. With a heart for service and compassion, Lois dedicated her life's work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Bethesda Dilworth in St. Louis, Missouri, where she cared for the sick and elderly. Her gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering dedication touched countless lives, both within her profession and beyond. A woman of strong faith, Lois was a longtime member of Evangel Temple in Maplewood, Missouri. Her life reflected her deep love for God, her family, and her community. Lois also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved Chihuahua mix, Ashe, who rarely left her side and brought her constant companionship and joy. In her free time, Lois enjoyed traveling to Colorado with her late husband, where they created lasting memories visiting family and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. She is survived by her sons, David Bezayiff and Steven Bezayiff, her granddaughters Nichole Jeffers and Tiffany Bezayiff, and her great-grandson, Elijah Bezayiff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Alexander; her children, Michael Bezayiff and Rita Bezayiff; her parents, Robert and Bernice McGowen; her brother, Glen McGowen; and her sister, Wilma Bumpus (née McGowen). Lois will be lovingly remembered for her quiet strength, compassionate heart, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to her family. Her legacy of love and care - to both people and animals - will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A private service will be held to honor her life.
