It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linn Patrick Laird, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and esteemed police officer. Linn was born on June 12, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, to his parents Arthur and Ann Laird, who preceded him in death. He was married to his beloved wife Genelle Elaine Laird (nee Love) who also preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his brother, Tom Laird. Linn dedicated his life to serving his community in the noble profession of law enforcement. As a dedicated and courageous police officer, Linn made countless sacrifices to ensure the safety and well-being of others. His unwavering commitment to upholding justice and protecting those in need earned him the respect and gratitude of all who knew him. Linn leaves behind a legacy of bravery, integrity, and selflessness. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Kimberly Liggett, his grandchildren Zachary and Alexander Liggett, his sister Susan Strauss, and his brothers Bill, and Joe Laird. Their lives are forever enriched by his presence and his love. A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood, Fenton, MO 63026. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 9:00 am at the same location. In honor of Linn's life and service, a Graveside Service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on April 2, 2024, at 10:30 am. Linn Patrick Laird will be laid to rest with full honors, a final tribute to a man who dedicated his life to protecting and serving his community.
