Lenore Lams (nee Ringenberg) died May 23, surrounded by her loving family, at Fieser Nursing Home. She was born on September 23, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She attended grade school at Bethlehem Lutheran, during which time she discovered her love of music and the piano. She became a talented pianist She attended Concordia college in River Forest,IL, where she met the love of her life, John Lams. They married August 20, 1967. Lenore continued her music studies at the American Conservatory in Chicago, where she joined the faculty for three years following graduation. Lenore was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 1968-1974, and was the accompanist for the North Shore Choral Society from 1973-1979. She has served as keyboardist with the Chicago Symphony and joined the accompanying staff of Chicago Symphony Chorus in 1987. She performed nationally and internationally with members of the Chicago Symphony and artists from Lyric Opera, New York City Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera. In addition to being active in chamber music circles, she was music director of Faith Lutheran Church in Lake Forest, IL. After retiring, she and John moved to Viola, WI and were active members of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. In 2021, they moved to St Louis to be near to family. Surviving are her loving husband John, and brothers Joe (Diane), Mark (Marty), and Jim (Charla); daughter Kirsten (Clint), and granddaughters Lauren, Kristina (Neal) Gupta, Audra, and Malainna. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward C and Ellen M Ringenberg. Funeral service is at 11am Friday, May 29 at Jay B Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood (at 141) Fenton, MO 63026. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11am, preceding the funeral.
