Kathleen A. McLaurin went with the angels on Thurs. Dec. 16, 2021. Beloved wife for 66 years of Duncan W. McLaurin. Loving mother of Vicki Minniear. Cherished grandmother of Brandon, Brian and Bre` Minniear. Dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. Visitation on Mon. Dec. 20th from 10-12:00pm. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Kathleen had a love for the outdoors. In particularly the water, travel and fishing. They bought their first boat in the late 60's. You would never have guessed she wouldn't get into the water before this. Since that time Kathleen has loved the water. She enjoyed skiing so much that they traveled to several lakes to do it. They have been to Lake Powell in Arizona and Lake Mead in Nevada just to name a few. She and Duncan have traveled to all 50 states and some of them 2 or 3 times and have even been to Canada. Their adventure started in a pick-up camper and eventually graduated to a travel trailer. They have also sailed on several cruise ships through the years. Another favorite pastime of Kathleen's was fishing. While she dearly loved this sport, one thing has never changed over the years, she wouldn't bait her own hook or take a fish off of it. They have angled for various species of fish all over the United States. She truly enjoyed deep sea fishing. Probably one of her proudest moments was when they were fishing in Key West. They were there during the three day Sailfish Tournament. That day on her trip there were five Sailfish caught and she proudly boasted that she caught three of the five. It's hard to summarize a lifetime in a few short passages, but Kathleen was a warm and caring person. She was cherished by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
