Kathleen S Fitts passed away on 14 Sep. 2023 at the Arrowhead Senior Living facility in Osage Beach (Lake of the Ozarks), MO. She was preceded in death by her father Anthony Simurda, mother Olga Simurda (Fryntzko) and husband (1) David K. Smith of Granite City, IL. She is survived by her Husband Edward D. (Douglas) Fitts (2) of Sunrise Beach (Lake of the Ozarks), MO, Sister Antoinette Dorosh (Simurda) and brother in law Michel Dorosh of Chicago, IL, son Paul Smith and daughter in law Melissa Smith (Toon) of St. Louis, MO, grandson, Logan Smith of Barnhart, MO, step brother in law Kenneth Fitts and step nephew, K. Christopher Fitts of The Villages, FL, stepson Thomas E. Fitts and step grandchildren Matthew T. Fitts of New Haven, MO, Joshua E. Fitts and Hanna M. Fitts of Washington, MO, stepson William P. Fitts of Lake Worth, FL, step daughter Julianna L Appleby (Fitts), step son in law Scott Appleby, and step grandchildren Ethan and Wesley Appleby of Springfield, MO as well as many other family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday 18 Sep. 2023 at the J. B. Smith Funeral Home in Maplewood, MO. Panakhyda will be held from 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM Divine Liturgy will be held for her at the Sts. Cyril and Methody Orthodox Church at 10:00 AM on Tuesday 19 Sep. 2023 in Granite City, IL followed by internment in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis County MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to her church Sts. Cyril and Methody Orthodox Church in Granite City, IL or to Altzheimer Disease Research in Clarksburg, MD.
