In loving memory of Kaaren Katherine Karcher Veatch, age 87, who passed away on July 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kaaren was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy came from being with the people she loved. She was known for her caring heart, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to her family. Her kindness, encouraging spirit, and boisterous laugh touched the lives of everyone she knew.
Kaaren was employed by Lancôme at Famous-Barr for 20 years. There, she enjoyed helping others and formed many lasting relationships. She also faithfully taught children's Bible study through Community Bible Study (CBS) for 20 years, sharing her love of God and His Word with countless children. During the last three years of her life, she resided at Friendship Village in Sunset Hills, Missouri.
Kaaren is survived by her daughter, Mary Veatch Moorman, and her husband, Tom Moorman, of Houston, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Mergelkamp Veatch, of Kansas City, Missouri, widow of her late son, Brad Veatch; and her son, Steven Veatch, of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jason Moorman, Andrew (Allison) Moorman, Brian (Erica) Moorman, Luke Veatch, Logan Veatch, and Katherine Veatch; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Keegan, Jayda, Maddie, Bradley, Jamie, Michael, and Quinn. She also leaves behind many dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Kaaren was preceded in death by Norwood Earl Veatch Jr.; her mother, Elizabeth Finck Koltzen; and her son, Brad Eric Veatch.
A Memorial Eucharistic Celebration will be held in her honor on Friday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Village Sunset Hills, 12503 Village Circle Drive. Please enter through the back of the building. The Mass will be held in the ballroom.
