June Henroid (nee Brethold), 92, of Fenton, died suddenly at home on November 8, 2022. She is survived by her daughters Suzanne Henroid and Nancy Jones, son-in-law Patrick Jones, granddaughters Jamie and Jordan Jones, and many nieces and nephews, especially her devoted nephew, Wayne Berry. June was predeceased by her husband, Allen, her eldest daughter, Carol Lynn, and all her siblings. June Brethold was born in Fenton in her family's farmhouse in 1930 and lived on that farm virtually all of her remarkable 92 years. June's elementary school was a one-room schoolhouse. She then traveled fifty two miles round trip each day to attend high school. June went on to study at the University of Missouri in Columbia, UMSL, and Washington University. She married Allen Henroid on September 29, 1951. June's father gave a portion of his 100 acre farm to each of his five children. On June's parcel of land, Allen built his wife a home in which to raise their three daughters. Just as she hoped, June passed in that house. June spent her last day puttering around her home, walking the property, and visiting with her son-in-law and grand dog. June was adored by her entire family. She was German through and through, which was apparent in her innate stubbornness. June was a hard worker, lived a beautiful life, and always seemed content. She had a happy 61-year marriage, three daughters and two granddaughters to whom she showed unconditional love, and cared for her home and her land with her whole soul. She was a nurturing woman who derived so much joy in caring for others. She was steadfast and constant, but always a thoroughly modern woman. Her mind was sharp until the day she died, and her granddaughters loved that they could talk to her about anything. June missed her husband every day since his passing in 2012, and it brings her family great joy believing they are now reunited. Indeed, it is hoped June is now enjoying wonderful, long awaited reunions in heaven with a lifetime of friends, her husband, her daughter, her parents, Herman and Carrie, and her siblings, particularly her beloved sister, Lexie Berry. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated. June dutifully served as her parish's SVDP president for twenty years.
