Joyce McLaughlin (nee Bates), 83, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce McLaughlin was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother who brought joy to everyone she met. She loved her family and selflessly put them first. When she wasn't busy caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren, she enjoyed traveling, jitterbugging, eating coconut shrimp from Outback, and listening to Elvis. Most of all, many will remember how her laugh and smile could change the energy of an entire room. Joyce is survived by her husband John, and her children Belinda Nahmensen, Cheryl Wohlschlaeger, and Cindy Gall. Her grandchildren Dani Britt, Garrett Britt, David Pracht, Lisa Pracht, John Paul Cushman, Brittany Mims, Eric Gall, Kasey Gall, and her great-grandchildren, Riley Britt, Ella Britt, Leah Pracht, and Sean Britt. She is also survived by her Aunts, Faye Hogan, and Marie Parker, and uncle Wayland Lauderdale. She joins her beloved parents Joseph and Maylene Bates, grandson, Brian Pracht, and her siblings, Sue Muse, Morris Bates, Donny Bates, Debbie Bates, and Bobby Bates along with many of her beloved Lauderdale family members. Visitation will take place at Jay B Smith Funeral Home in Maplewood on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will take place at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home Maplewood Chapel at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 26th. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:45 pm.
