Joyce Ann Portell-Highley was born in Saint Louis Missouri to the union of Adrian and Dolly Portell (nee Barnes). She was one of 7 born to the couple. She was preceded in death by parents and her sister Dora Mae Portell, aka "Peachy Girl" and her brothers Kenneth and Dennis Portell. She is survived by her sisters Clara Lavern (Jerry) Signaigo of High Ridge and Katy (Greg) Orphan of Nixa Missouri and brother Michael (Dianne) Portell of Gibsonburg, OH. She is also survived by her son, Robert Highley of Arnold and his four children; Amber (Phillip) Wingbermuehle, Cheyenne, Sierra and Hunter Highley all of Arnold Missouri. Joyce enjoyed many things in life and her favorite hobbies were reading and collecting elephant figurines, but her world was her grandchildren. When the grandkids were small, of course they loved to color. Through her grandkids Joyce discovered she still enjoyed coloring. When the kids got older and the coloring slowed, Joyce didn't. For her re-discovered passion, she started purchasing adult level coloring books for herself. Family time was very important to her and her favorite times were the ones spent around the swimming pool with her grandkids.
