John James Linkul, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2024 at Jefferson Barracks Medical VA Hospital. He was born April 21, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was 81 years old. John "Jack" Linkul, Jr. leaves behind to cherish his memory one child. Christopher John Linkul Larsen, sister Patricia Ann Leicht (Kenneth) of Fenton, Missouri; sister, Elizabeth Schnable (Sidney) of Fredericktown, Missouri; sister, Susan Marie Linkul of Imperial, Missouri; brother, Michael Joseph Linkul (Deborah Giron) of Houston, Missouri; and sister, Joan Abney (Jeffrey) of Piedmont, Missouri. Sister-in-law Tina Linkul; Twelve nieces and nephews, Scott Leicht (Jeanne) of St. Louis, Missouri; Christopher Robert Linkul of Carson City, Nevada; Amanda Ree (Renѐ) of Vista, California; Robert Linkul (Keagan) of Shingle Springs, California; Bryan Schnable (Amanda) of Fredericktown, Missouri; Kevin Schnable (Gretchen) of Antonia, Missouri; Kimberly Wilde (Kevin) of High Ridge, Missouri; Sean Murphy of Arnold Missouri; Matthew Murphy (Felicia) of Imperial, Missouri; Ryan Murphy of Lemay, Missouri; and Brandon Murphy of DeSoto, Missouri; Sixteen great nieces and nephews, Janelle Leicht, Ethan Leicht both of St. Louis, Missouri; Brandon, Catherine, and C.J. Linkul of Carson City, Nevada; Peyton and Bristol Linkul, of Shingle Springs, California; Andrew, Trevor, and Hunter Schnable of Fredericktown, Missouri; Issac and Abigail Schnable of Festus Missouri: Claire Schnable of Antonia, Missouri; Hadley Hiller, O'Fallon, Missouri; Kaleb and Kaden Wilde of High Ridge, Missouri; and Harper Murphy of Arnold, Missouri. Great, great niece, Mirabella Vitullo of Lemay, Missouri. John Linkul, Jr. served in the United States Air Force as a Communications Specialist during the Cuban Missile Crisis stationed in Ismir, Turkey. He was a lifeguard, pipefitter for Grinnell Pipefitters, Cosmetologist, a distributor/owner for Winslow Beauty Salon Products, Public Relations Rep for Auto Glass companies, Agent/owner Farmers Insurance Group, and Antique Shop/ B & B owner. John's professional career started as a lifeguard at Sun and Swim Country Club. Followed by being a valet at Cheshire Inn, a pipefitter for Grinnell Pipefitters, Cosmetologist, Distributer for Winslow Hair Products, Sales rep for Auto Glass company, Owner/agent for Farmers Insurance group, Owner B & B and Antiques. John Linkul, Jr. volunteered at the Russellville Historical Society, Founder Colorado Historical Society, Douglas County (Colorado) Preservation Board representative and Beetletree president. His interests were in history, arrowheads and Indian artifacts, coins, horses, cars, antiques, and auctions. He financially supported St. Jude's Children's Hospital, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Wounded Warriors Project and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and John Linkul Sr.; one brother, Richard Linkul, one nephew, Richard Linkul, Jr.; and wives, Beth Linkul, Virginia "Ginny" Linkul: and life partner, Donna Lee Counts. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Dr. Fenton, MO. 63026 Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Fenton, MO. with Fr. Mark Whitman officiating. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Ballwin, MO.
