Jim Maletich, 83, died Thursday, January 19, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis, MO of respiratory failure/influenza. He was born in St. Louis, MO May 15, 1934 to Joseph Michael and Barbara (Grube) Maletich. He graduated from Cleveland High School where he was president of his senior graduating class. He then continued his education at Saint Louis University receiving his Master of Education degree. He retired after 30 years of service in the Webster Groves School District. He taught mathematics and computer science and coached the basketball and tennis teams. Among his many interests were music (especially, The Three Tenors and the works of Andrew Lloyd Webber), tennis, golf, water volleyball, bridge, and walking the dogs. He is survived by this life partner of 40 years, Donna Cook, and her 5 daughters, Keely Cook, Jody Parrish, Julie Cook, Shelley Moore, Chandra Sullivan, and their families. Visitation is scheduled from 12-1:30pm Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton, MO with a brief Celebration of Life service immediately following.
