James Kevin Gorman, born on February 12, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 28, 2024, in Ballwin, Missouri. Jim was the cherished husband of Mary (Dauten) Gorman and a devoted father to his three children: Bill Gorman (Rachel), Hannah Godsell (Jonathan), and Bethany Briggs (Michael). He found great joy in his role as a grandfather and treasured the time he spent with his family. Raised in South St. Louis City, Jim began his career as a technical illustrator and writer at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, where he worked for 11 years. He later discovered his true vocation in law enforcement. After graduating from the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, Jim joined the Town and Country Police Department. Over the course of 25 years, he served with dedication and integrity, leaving a lasting legacy among his colleagues and within the community he protected. A man of deep faith in Jesus Christ, Jim was an active member of his church and generously shared his knowledge by teaching adult Sunday school classes. His life reflected his steadfast commitment to God and family, and he served as an example of sacrifice and devotion. Jim will be remembered for his unwavering love for those closest to him, his meaningful contributions throughout his life, and his contagious sense of humor. Jim is survived by his wife Mary Gorman; his children, Bill Gorman and wife Rachel; Hannah Godsell and husband Jonathan; Bethany Briggs and husband Michael; grandchildren, Lucy, Isla, and Graham Gorman, Abigail, Ashlyn, Logan, and Lily Godsell, Emilia and Josiah Briggs; brother, Ed Gorman; sisters, Pat, Joan, Mary, Diane, and Chris. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annabelle Gorman; brother, Robert Gorman. Memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Fenton (650 Oakwood Dr, Fenton, MO 63026). Visitation will take place before the service from 10:00-11:15 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Fenton (650 Oakwood Dr, Fenton, MO 63026).
