Jim was born in the city of Saint Louis on Wednesday July 1, 1936 to the union of William P. and Alice I. Digar (nee Venable). He served in the U.S. Army from January 17, 1956 until January 16, 1959 at which time he was released from active duty with an Honorable discharge. In August 1960 he married Georgia Mae Digar (nee Dill), they were married for 57 years as of the time of his death. To this union were born 5 children, Danny, Becky, Debbie, Vickie and Jimmy. Jim's hobbies were fishing and gardening, but what he really enjoyed and looked forward to was visiting the thrift store.
