Smock, Helen "Jean" (nee Ward); Friday, November 20, 2009 in Denton,TX. after a long battle with cancer: Beloved wife of the late Roy L. (Rocky) Smock; Loving mother Stephen L. (Sharon) Smock, of Cornith, TX, Gwen L. (John) Beasley of Luther, OK. and the late Ward Kevin Smock; Cherished grandmother of Kevin Smock, Tammy (Tom) Rowe, Jared (Katrina) Beasley, and Shannon (Jake) Birdwell; Dear sister of the late James and William F. and her sisters, Ester, Bernice, Bess, Lee and Betty; Jean was born in Painton, MO. on September 13, 1926 to Ida and William F. Ward. After retiring from Libson Shops, Jean worked for Developmental Child Care and later volunteered her time continuing to care for the babies she so dearly loved. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Maplewood, MO. Jean will always be remembered for her love of her Irish heritage and unbridled joy of St. Patrick's Day. The love she held for her family, friends, and neighbors and her pride & devotion to her grandchildren. Funeral Wed. Nov. 25, 10:00am at the JAY B.
