Smith, Hardy Jack Born April 10, 1922, Hardy went Home March 29, 2010. After many years of various illnesses, he chose to leave this life and go to Eternal Rest. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velda Callaway Smith. Beloved father of Sandra Smith Grassino; grandfather of Joseph Grassino (Amy Berry Grassino); and great grandfather of Saige and Keaton; Loving son of the late Earl E. and Louise Hunkler Smith, he was the last surviving child of that union, Hardy is also reunited with his siblings Earl, Jr. (the late Bunny); Gladys McFadden; Blanche Baldwin (the late Mike); Marcella Spitz; Audrey Kitchell; and Betty Jean Albrecht (the late Ed). He is also survived by brother-in-law Milton Spitz. He was a beloved uncle, great uncle, cousin, friend, neighbor and :honorary member" of various organizations to which his daughter belonged. A veteran of World War II, Hardy was proud of his service. He was the third to last living National Charter Member of the AMVETS organization. He is a 55-year member of the Tile Setters Local Union #18.
