Glenna was a spit-fire with a big heart.

She wasn't afraid to "poke the bear" if she saw an injustice ... but just as quick to offer a smile.

Glenna was strong-willed, loyal, courageous, funny - and a bit of a rebel. Even in the face of

severe medical conditions, she had a flair for the ridiculous and a zest for life.

Glenna spent her early life on the west coast with her family in California and the state of Washington.

She was the youngest of four siblings and the only daughter. Glenna cared for her parents as their

health declined, and after their deaths, moved to Missouri with her brother.

Glenna never married or had any children of her own, but raised her nephew and niece to keep them

out of the foster system. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Betty, three brothers and her nephew.

Her niece is now married and living in California. But sadly, Glenna has lost touch with her over the years.

At one point, Glenna lost her job during an illness and found herself homeless and living on the street.

After several shelters, she was desperate and didn't know where to go. Then she met Anne and David.

Their family welcomed her into their home and supported her during a difficult time. She stayed with

them for two years. David offered her a job and Glenna joined the extended family at Laurel Hill.

In 2019, Glenna was hospitalized, and 8 days later, released in a wheelchair. For the next seven years,

she resided in skilled nursing facilities and struggled with a variety of complex medical issues.

In late 2025, she was dealt another staggering blow when she became paralyzed and quadriplegic.

This was devastating news, but she drew strength from her faith in God and the kindness of others.

Glenna said she did not know Jesus until she was in her forties. But that pivoting moment changed

her life forever and gave her the anchor and strength she needed.

Even when homeless and facing physical disabilities, Glenna clung to her faith and made new friends.

These friends became her family, and with God's help, provided the comfort and purpose she needed.

"...a sweet friendship refreshes the soul." - Proverbs 27:9

Today we celebrate Glenna's life and remember . . .

" Even youths grow tired and weary - and young men stumble and fall.

But they who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles.

They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint." - Isaiah 40:30-31
