Preceded in death by her husband Louis, loving mother of John (Mary) Straub, Cathy Kirn and Louis Straub Jr., loving grandmother of Dwayne and Andy Kirn, John Straub Jr. and Michelle (Akel) Akel. Godmother to Winnie Quinones of Port Jefferson, NY, Judy Westrich and Greg Howell. Dear aunt to many, friend to all and special friend of Beverly Straub. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Annie Turner, sisters Dorothy Todd, Ann Frank and Sr. Mary Amata CSJ and brothers, Eugene, Talbert and Sylvester Turner. Georgette graduated from Rosati Kain High School in 1935,. She worked at Wagner Electric followed by a long and rewarding career at Sunnen Service Corp., retired in 1987. Georgette was quite an athlete, accomplished in swimming, basketball, tennis, softball, and bowling. She had many trophies, most notably a women's World Championship in baseball, as a member of the Curlee Clothing team, and several bowling championships at Sunnen. She continued her bowling in the WIBC until 1994, when a hand injury forced her to stop. A long time parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church (Maplewood), she was practically a fixture at the church and rectory, being active in numerous Church functions until shortly before her death. That church was a top priority in her last 20-25 years, just as God was during her entire life. Georgette had a lifelong love of travel. Her trips with New Experience and others spanned three continents and every state. She had an unbelievable zest for life, of which those fortunate enough to really know her were well aware. Her smile and cheerful demeanor will be missed by all. Visitation Wednesday June 13, 2012 at Jay B.
