Erwin Jackson, 87 of Arnold, MO died Oct. 3, 2013 , at Cori Manor Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 21, 1926, in St. Louis, he was the son of Harry and Dorothy Jackson. He grew up in St. Louis and attended Soldan High School before going into the Army where he was stationed in Japan and actually climbed Mt. Fuji. He attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO where he met his wife, R. Jean (Dowler) Jackson. He became a cartographer at the Defense Mapping Agency and retired in 1981. He loved being outdoors in the fresh air, going to the zoo, gardening, taking walks, spending time with the family and listening to music and Charles Stanley. He also loved ice cream, Crispy Creme doughnuts and chocolate. He is survived by four children, David (Janice) Jackson of St. Louis; Donna (Don) Wright of Festus; Dennis Jackson of Arnold; and Glenn Jackson of Arnold; four grandchildren, Lisa (Brooke) Wrisinger of Olathe, KS; Jill (Billy) Seitz of Olathe, KS; Aaron (Robyn) Miller of Columbia; and Cara (Tyler) Cooley of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister, Ann (Earl) Conatser of South Dakota; two brothers, Eugene Jackson of Overland Park, KS; and Paul Jackson of Arnold; and a brother-in-law Forrest (Connie) Dowler of Claremore, OK; Great-grandchildren are Jillian and Carmen Wrisinger, Noel and Garbiel Seitz and Lainey and Lauryn Cooley. Visitation Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 fron 4 to 8:00pm at the Jay B. Smith Funeral Home Fenton Chapel. Funeral Service at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in 10:00am on Monday Oct. 7, 2013. It will be officiated by Pastor Kenny Qualls of First Baptist Church of Arnold. Burial at Shepard Hills in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
