Emily Sue (Darden) Nunn passed away on August 30, 2025, in Saint Louis, Missouri, just days before her 34th birthday. Born on September 2, 1991, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Emily brought kindness and compassion to all who knew her. Emily was a beloved daughter to Carrie Fontana and the late Steven Nunn, a cherished sister to Heather Nicholas and Amanda and a treasured granddaughter of Mary Lou and Dennis Fontana, as well as JoAnn and Dulaney Nunn. Known affectionately as MiMi, she held many roles in life-daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, friend-but perhaps none more dear to her than being the beloved MiMi to Carter, Raygen, Dulaney, and Sofia. Her love for children and her care for others were both evident in her personal life and her professional calling. A natural caretaker by heart and by trade, Emily dedicated herself to nurturing others. Whether through her work or in everyday moments with family and friends, she offered comfort, support, and unwavering kindness. Her presence was a source of strength and joy to those around her. Emily's compassion extended beyond people to the many animals she rescued and cared for throughout her life. She opened her heart and her home to countless dogs and cats in need, giving them safety, love, and family. Her devotion to animals was another reflection of her gentle spirit and her deep commitment to caring for the vulnerable. Emily's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. May her memory bring comfort to all who were touched by her gentle spirit. A Visitation will be held on September 27th, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Jay B. Smith, 777 Oakwood (at HWY 141), Fenton, MO 63026. Immediately after, a celebration of Emily's life will be held at VFW Post 4223, 213 Military Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. In place of flowers, please consider a donation to Stray Rescue of St. Louis in Emily's name or another charity of your choice, continuing her lifelong love and care for animals.
