Ella Mae Swetlik, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Mae was the youngest daughter of Ella and Frank Swetlik. She is predeceased by her sisters Mary and Ruth. After graduating from Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis, Mae entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill and taught at the old St. Marks School. She took the name, Sr. Mary Cecelia. After many years, Mae rejoined the laity and was a school teacher in Maplewood. Due to severe hearing loss, she was unable to continue teaching and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked until her retirement. Mae loved everything St Louis especially gooey butter cake and the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed life to the fullest and had many enduring friendships throughout the years. She was a wonderful story teller and brought much laughter to those who knew her.
