Obituary

Edward Dennis Paszkiewicz, age 77 of Fenton Missouri, while surrounded by family departed us on October 21, 2017 on a quiet afternoon after a long recovery from cardiac surgeries. Born August 31, 1940, Ed ("Eddie") is preceded in death by his father and mother, Peter and Mary (Blaharsky) Paszkiewicz; siblings Stella (and Earl Perricone), Walter (and Vel) Paszkiewicz and Helen (and Art Zambruski), and in-laws Fred and Bessie (Dack) Zeitz. He is survived by spouse and love-of-his-life Beth Loraine (Zeitz) Paszkiewicz, loving daughter Laura Lynn and son-in-law Shawn Jiri Mater, adored grandchildren Nicole Marie Mater (and Matthew Welles), Matthew Richard, Erika Beth, and Kayla Veronica. Ed was a St. Louis native who attended Central High School, marrying his high-school sweetheart in 1962. In 1971, they ventured to the suburbs making Fenton a forever home. There will be a visitation held from 4:00 -8:00 pm on Friday, October 27 and a memorial service at 11:30 on Saturday, October 28 at Jay B Smith Funeral Home (777 Oakwood (at 141) in Fenton, Missouri). Graveside service will follow at Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery, Caledonia (Washington County) Missouri. An open house will be hosted Saturday afternoon & evening in celebration of Ed's life at his daughter's home. Ed was a man with many passions and hobbies through his years. He was always intrigued by engineering and electronics. In the 70's he joined a CB Radio club and connected with friends over the airwaves and also became adventurous with motorcycling… in the 80's he found joy in crafting fruit-inspired wines, dancing and playing polkas on his accordion, and in the 90's he couldn't wait to get the latest TV, video and computer gadgets… then into the millennium and his retirement, Ed continued his love for music through The Greater St. Louis Harmonica Club, and most recently he gained appreciation of aviation thru remote control airplanes/drones as a member of both Aeropilots and Signal Chasers. The only thing that made Ed happier than sharing his experiences and helping those around him, was spending time with his grandchildren.
