Edgar (Ed) Walker, Jr. passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, peacefully at his home in Valley Park, MO surrounded by his wife and children after a long 2-year battle with cancer. Ed graduated in 1968 from Valley Park High School and quickly married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Connie Walker (Wilburn) of 55 years. He was blessed with a large extended family. He wasn't just a husband and father, Ed was a loyal friend, a little league coach, a coworker, a cousin, uncle, brother, stand-in father figure to many of his children's friends, comedian, baseball and basketball player and the list goes on and on. Ed was a loyal family man who loved his family dearly, he loved sports, old country music and his community. He lived vicariously through his kids and grandchildren, attending their sporting events up until this last month - he never missed a game. One of his all-time favorite things to do was to play tricks on his coworkers, friends, kids, and grandchildren, he hid behind every corner. His laugh and sense of humor was passed down through his children and extended family which will be his legacy. Ed was employed by Frost Electric Supply Company for a total of 38 years, holding many positions and retired in 2014. He also served his community as an Alderman for the City of Valley Park and a Board Member for the Valley Park Fire District. After retirement Ed and his wife sought out every restaurant they could in between sporting events. Ed is preceded by his parents, Edgar Walker Sr. and Lorine (Lorene) Walker and his brothers, James Eugene Walker and Bobbie Jo Walker, his nephew, Bobbie Jo Walker, Jr. and his son in law, Donald Marietta. He is survived by brother, Dickie Lee Walker and his wife, Connie Walker, their children, Jennifer Walker-Vanelli (Dave), Jessica Marietta, and Edgar (Eddie) Walker, III (Nichole). He has 5 grandchildren: Zachary (26), Nicholas (22), Jacob (22), Peyton (17) and Madison (13). His extended family includes 6 step-grandchildren: Tammy, Chrissy, Joey, Abby, Carter, and Lainey. He wouldn't want us to leave out his Grand Dogs: Milo, Bella, Bentley, Bandit (LB) and Harley. A "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at JB Smith Funeral Home, located at 777 Oakwood Dr., Fenton, MO 63026.
